Laser Tag Questions, Answered

Is laser tag a safe activity?

Absolutely — laser tag is actually safer than a standard game of tag, since we prohibit running and any physical contact. Our gear emits infrared beams that are certified as harmless to the human eye.

What age do players need to be?

Laser tag works great for ages 5 and up. Our taggers come in sizes suited to every age and height, and weighing just over two pounds, they're light enough for players of any age to handle comfortably.

How long is a single match?

Each Apex Laser Tag match runs about 12 to 15 minutes of live play. Before the match begins there's a brief safety briefing, and afterward players can review their high scores on a monitor.

Even though we can handle a large number of players at once, reserving ahead is a smart move — it puts you first "on deck" for the time slot you want. Knowing the player count in advance also helps us build scenarios and an arena layout tailored to that group size.

How long does the mobile arena stay set up for private events, and how many players fit?

Setup time for our mobile arena depends on the rental package you choose, though most customers go with the 1.5 to 2 hour option. A single match can hold up to 40 players (20 versus 20), but for private events the 16-player package (8 versus 8) tends to be the most popular choice.

How can I bring an Apex Laser Tag public event to my area?

We regularly host public events at unique venues, festivals and fairs, and in high-demand areas. Want a mobile laser tag arena set up near you? Just reach out and tell us — and if you already have a specific location in mind, be sure to include it in your message.

Does laser tag burn calories?

During a typical match, players walk roughly a quarter mile, so most people burn about 100 calories per game. Beyond being fun and immersive, laser tag is a great way to stay active while sharpening teamwork and communication skills.
